New State Laws in 2012 in Effect January 1

Huffington Post— State laws taking effect as 2012 begins require girls seeking abortions in New Hampshire to first tell their parents or a judge; voters in Tennessee to show photo ID; and California students to learn about the societal contributions of gays and lesbians. A sampling of some other new laws taking effect Jan. 1:ALABAMA_ New restrictions govern who can testify as an expert witness in civil and criminal trials in a measure aiming to limit what critics call “junk science” theories of how or why a crime occurred. DELAWARE_ Civil unions or domestic partnerships for same-sex couples are legalized, giving them the same state rights and obligations of those who are married but clarifying that marriage is between a man and a woman.ILLINOIS_Motorcyclists stopped at a red light may proceed through if it fails to change to green after a reasonable length of time.UTAH_ New laws make any daily drink specials illegal, essentially banning happy hour…

It has to suck to live anywhere but California. Scratch that. It’s got to suck to live anywhere but Los Angeles. Fuck all the other cities in California. You know what sucks more than all the other cities in California? These new laws. Where are these Mormon’s supposed to go to pick up potential wives in Utah? Banning Happy Hour as a law is taking power into a whole nother level. Ain’t shit to do in Utah as far as I’m concerned except the Utah Jazz, get married, snowboard and go drink at happy hour. Take one of those away and you’ve got yourself anarchy. Good luck with that one Utah.

PS. Illinois must have just countless numbers of motorcycle gangs right? “Motorcyclists stopped at a red light may proceed through if it fails to change to green after a reasonable length of time.” That has SAMCRO written all over it.
